GeoTipper.com is owned and operated by Verdant Web Solutions, LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit GeoTipper.com. By using this site, you agree to the practices described here.
The short version: all tip calculations run entirely in your browser — nothing you type is ever sent to our servers. We do not have user accounts and we do not sell your information. We use three Google services — Analytics, Search Console, and AdSense — each described in full below.
Information we collect
GeoTipper.com collects two categories of information:
- Calculator inputs: City selections, bill amounts, star ratings, and all other calculator inputs are processed entirely in your browser. This data is never transmitted to our servers and we never see it.
- Automatically collected data: When you visit GeoTipper.com, Google services we use automatically collect certain technical information — including your anonymized IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, session duration, and referring URL. This is detailed in the sections below.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use GeoTipper.com. Google Analytics collects:
- Pages visited and time spent on each page
- General geographic location (country and city level — not your precise location)
- Device type, operating system, and browser
- How you arrived at the site (e.g. Google Search, direct visit, referral link)
- Events such as which calculators were used
This data is aggregated and used solely to improve the site. We do not use Google Analytics to identify you personally. Google Analytics uses cookies to track sessions. IP addresses are anonymized before storage by Google.
To opt out of Google Analytics tracking, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or adjust your browser's cookie settings.

Google Search Console
We use Google Search Console to monitor GeoTipper.com's visibility in Google Search results. Search Console provides us with aggregated data about how our pages appear in search — such as which queries lead visitors to the site, how often pages are shown, and click-through rates.
Google Search Console does not collect any personal information directly from visitors to GeoTipper.com. It processes data that Google already collects as part of its search engine operation. No additional tracking code is added to the site for Search Console purposes beyond a verification meta tag or DNS record.
Google AdSense
We display advertisements on GeoTipper.com through Google AdSense. AdSense serves ads based on your interests and browsing history. To do this, Google uses cookies and similar tracking technologies. Specifically, Google AdSense may:
- Set cookies in your browser to track activity across sites that participate in Google's advertising network
- Use your browsing history to show personalized ads relevant to your interests
- Collect your IP address, device identifiers, and browser information
- Use data from your Google account if you are signed in to a Google product
GeoTipper.com complies with all Google AdSense program policies, including the requirement to maintain this Privacy Policy and to clearly disclose the use of advertising cookies to visitors.
To opt out of personalized advertising, visit Google's Ad Settings or AboutAds.info. You will still see ads after opting out, but they will not be personalized.

Cookies
GeoTipper.com does not set any first-party cookies. The following third-party cookies may be set when you visit the site:
- Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*, _gid) — distinguish users and sessions for traffic analysis. The _ga cookie expires after 2 years; _gid expires after 24 hours.
- Google AdSense (IDE, DSID, and others) — serve and measure personalized advertisements. Managed and expired by Google.
- Google Fonts — Google may set cookies or log requests when fonts are loaded from their servers.
You can manage, block, or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect the display of advertisements but will not affect calculator functionality, which runs entirely in your browser without cookies.
Other third-party services
We use Google Fonts to load the typefaces used on GeoTipper.com. When your browser requests a font, Google may log the request including your IP address. Google Fonts Privacy FAQ
US city and zip code data is sourced from SimpleMaps and embedded directly in the page. No requests are made to SimpleMaps when you use GeoTipper.com.
County median household income data is sourced from the American Community Survey 5-year estimates and embedded in the page. No live requests are made to the Census Bureau during your session.
How we use information
Information collected through Google services is used to:
- Understand which pages and calculators visitors find most useful, so we can improve them
- Monitor and improve GeoTipper.com's visibility in Google Search results
- Display advertisements that help fund the free operation of the site
We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with any third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Data retention
Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months by default, after which it is automatically deleted by Google. Google AdSense data retention is governed by Google's own policies. Verdant Web Solutions, LLC does not store any personal data on its own servers.
Your privacy rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data:
- California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information is collected about you, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at verdantwebsolutions@gmail.com.
- European Economic Area (GDPR): You have rights including the right to access, correct, and delete your personal data, and to object to its processing. GeoTipper.com is a US-based site primarily serving US visitors. If you are an EU resident with concerns about data processing, please contact us.
- All users: You may opt out of Google Analytics and personalized advertising as described in the relevant sections above.
Children's privacy
GeoTipper.com is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Our AdSense implementation complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child has submitted personal information through our site, please contact us at verdantwebsolutions@gmail.com and we will promptly remove it.
Security
GeoTipper.com is served over HTTPS (encrypted). Because we do not collect or store personal data on our own servers, there is no proprietary database of user information at risk. Google maintains its own security practices for Analytics and AdSense data, as described in Google's Privacy Policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of GeoTipper.com after any changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
