Agreement to these terms
GeoTipper.com is owned and operated by Verdant Web Solutions, LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using GeoTipper.com (the "Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time — continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
What GeoTipper.com provides
GeoTipper.com is a free, browser-based tool that provides tip amount suggestions based on user-selected inputs and publicly available US Census Bureau income data. The Site is intended for general informational and educational purposes only. It is not a financial advisory service and does not constitute professional advice of any kind.
Tip suggestions are estimates only
All tip suggestions provided by GeoTipper.com are estimates derived from general US tipping norms and county-level median household income data. They do not represent guarantees of social acceptability, professional recommendations, or statements about what any specific service provider expects or requires.
Tipping norms vary widely by region, establishment, service type, individual provider, and personal circumstance. You are solely responsible for your own tipping decisions. Verdant Web Solutions, LLC accepts no liability for any decision made in reliance on suggestions provided by this Site.
Income and city data accuracy
Median household income data is sourced from the US Census Bureau's American Community Survey (ACS) 5-year estimates. City data is sourced from SimpleMaps. While we make reasonable efforts to use current data, we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of this information. County-level income figures are statistical estimates and may not precisely reflect conditions in every community or neighborhood.
Google services disclosure
GeoTipper.com uses three Google services that may affect your experience on the Site:
- Google Analytics 4: We use Google Analytics to collect anonymized, aggregated traffic data about how visitors use the Site. This helps us improve content and calculator functionality. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
- Google Search Console: We use Google Search Console to monitor the Site's performance in Google Search. This service does not place any tracking code on visitor devices and does not collect personal information from visitors.
- Google AdSense: We display advertisements through Google AdSense. These ads may be personalized based on your browsing history using cookies set by Google. The presence of an advertisement on GeoTipper.com does not constitute an endorsement of the advertised product or service by Verdant Web Solutions, LLC. Acceptable use
You agree to use GeoTipper.com only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others. You agree not to:
- Attempt to scrape, copy, or systematically extract content from the Site in bulk
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the Site's calculator logic or data for commercial purposes
- Use the Site in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the Site's servers or networks
- Misrepresent the Site's suggestions as professional financial or service advice
Intellectual property
All original content on GeoTipper.com — including text, design, calculator logic, and code — is the property of Verdant Web Solutions, LLC and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws. You may use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content on the Site without prior written permission from Verdant Web Solutions, LLC.
Data sourced from the US Census Bureau is in the public domain. City data from SimpleMaps is used under their respective license terms.
No warranties
GeoTipper.com is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Verdant Web Solutions, LLC does not warrant that the Site will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free from harmful components, or that any tip suggestions will be accurate, complete, or appropriate for your specific situation.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Verdant Web Solutions, LLC, its members, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages arising from or related to your use of or inability to use GeoTipper.com — including decisions made in reliance on tip suggestions — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Site shall not exceed $10.00 USD.
Third-party links
GeoTipper.com may contain links to third-party websites, including Google services, SimpleMaps, and the US Census Bureau. These links are provided for informational convenience only. Verdant Web Solutions, LLC has no control over the content, privacy practices, or availability of third-party sites and accepts no responsibility for them.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Verdant Web Solutions, LLC and its members, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of GeoTipper.com or your violation of these Terms of Use.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Idaho, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of GeoTipper.com shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Idaho.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms of Use is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
Entire agreement
These Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and Verdant Web Solutions, LLC regarding your use of GeoTipper.com and supersede any prior agreements.
Changes to these terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made. Your continued use of GeoTipper.com after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
